PITFALLS ON YOUR JOURNEY TO PURSUING DESTINY

As believers, whenever we are in the process of starting out something for the first time, we often take our time seeking the face of God to know his plans and will for us concerning a particular conviction, idea, dream and vision we have. And in most cases we are often vulnerable in his presence because we don’t want to do anything that is outside his will for us. We consult him before we make any decisions and we depend on him most of the times to direct and show us the way. 

This is often so because at the beginning of something we are conscious of our limitations, weaknesses and shortcomings and God is still working on us, refining, moulding and helping us rediscover ourselves. However, as we grow and start discovering strengths and maximizing our efforts and we  and the world around us start to see tremendous results, people slowly start seeing your results and others become drawn to what you are doing.

All of a sudden the praises and applause of men starts to become louder than Gods voice, you who used to be a person that constantly had to seek God before you could do anything, now you have become too busy to spend time in his presence become you are now so eager to know what people want and expect from you and the desire you had at the beginning to want to please God slowly starts to dwindle because your desire is shifted to start looking for ways you can please the people around you so that they don’t stop clapping and praising you. 

You must know that the praises and Applause of men starts to build a hunger and desire for fame, power, influence and recognition by others, it starts to give you the illusion that you go to that place by your own strength and you slowly start to forget that it was God that lead you, guided you and empowered you with all that you have that enabled the world to see you and hear you.

As you embark on your journey to manifest your purpose and destiny, you may still be growing but know that a day will come when many people far and near will start to hear about you. You need to be very conscious and ask God to give you grace and wisdom to learn how to handle the praises and applause of men when they start pouring in because if you don’t, people can literally clap you into your downfall and when you fall, they will be the same people that will start laughing at you and saying they knew you where too good to be true.
