NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS

When the clocks strike midnight, signaling the beginning of a brand new year, there is so much joy and excitement that goes around. Many of us see this moment as the beginning of another chance to rewrite their wrongs and do the things that they have always wished to do.

We become so zealous and eager not only to set new resolutions that they desire to run with through out the year but we also  become so aggressive at going after those goals with the belief that we have all it takes to change our lives and make things better.

However, a few weeks or  months into the new year almost 90% of  us abandon those goals, go back into our comfort zones and continue with the same old habits that caused us to remain at the same level in life year in and year out. And because many of us haven’t been intentional about trying to figure out why this happens, we continue to move in circles every year without achieving anything substancial.

Often times, we believe that the reason why we fail to achieve our goals is because they are so big. In as much as that may be true to some extent, I believe that it is not really the goals that we set that are a problem. It is the kind of approach that we use that determines whether we will achieve the resolutions we set out to achieve or not.

Take for instance, many of us have already set goals for this new year and our major focus right now is on what things we have to do that will enable us achieve those goals. We haven’t yet sat down to identify and develop the kind of person we have to become, the kind of  mindset, belief system, habits, knowledge and exposure we need that will enable us successfully achieve those goals.

Majority of us have the same mindset, habit, belief systems we had 5 years ago and this is the reason why it always seems like we are moving in circles and we aren’t achieving anything. If you are to see a difference in your new years resolutions this year, be ready to take your personal growth and development as your first goal.

You need to invest enough time on growing your mindset, belief system, positive habits and acquire knowledge that will enable you pursue and achieve your goals for this new year. The moment you start to grow, everything else around you grows with you.

Make a decision to focus more on growing yourself as you set out to achieve this years resolutions you will be amazed at what you will achieve when you become the kind of people that has the capacity to not only achieve your goals but maintain them as well.

I am cheering for you.
