THE DELICACY OF THE YOUTHFUL STAGE OF LIFE

If you observe any child you will notice how much faith and trust they have in their parents, they believe their parents knows what is best for them and they depend on them to make decisions on their behalf. Take for instance, when you were a child, you would eat anything that your mother gave you to eat without questioning if it was ok or not. You would go to any place where your father would carry you too because you trusted him and you knew he had your best interest at heart.

However, as you grew and transitioned into a youth, your understanding of the things around you and the things happening to you started to change, all of a sudden you became curious, you wanted to explore life, experience what you saw your peers experiencing. You started to learn the ways of life and you learnt you could make your own choices and decisions and this understanding slowly moved you out of the umbrella of your parents control and protection because you felt you had what it takes to take matters of your life in your own hands.

However, the fact that you have grown up and you can now make your own decisions doesn’t mean you should not take counsel from the elderly. They may have lived in a different generation from yours but that doesn’t mean they don’t know the ways that governs life and that paths that one ought to take that can either lead them to safety or to destruction.

The mere fact that many youths don’t make out time to seek Godly counsel has caused many youths today to live in regret because they made a decision that seemed harmless in the moment but eventually ended up turning their whole life upside down. Being a youth doesn’t mean you have to be reckless with your life all in the name of enjoyment.

Remember that the seeds you are sowing today will determine the kind of harvest that you will reap in the future. You can’t plant mangoes and expect to reap potatoes, the same way you can’t make bad choices and decisions whilst you are a youth and expect to reap a life free of consequences when you are an adult. Be wise, yes it’s true you only live once but the quality of the life you live is what determines if you lived well or not.
